Hyacinth Care... Shop
Level:
- It is recommended that
Hyacinth be left on the bulb as it will significantly increase
the life of the Hyacinth.
- When displaying the Hyacinth
you can chose to leave the protective bag over the bulbs and
store the Hyacinths in a dry bucket... or you can remove the
plastic bag from the bulbs and place the Hyacinth in a bucket
with 3/4" of water. Do not immerse the foliage.
- Hyacinths will continue to
grow while in the shop.
- Keep Hyacinths away from heat
and direct sunlight.
Hyacinth Care... Consumer
Level:
- It is recommended that
Hyacinth be left on the bulb as it will significantly increase
the life of the Hyacinth.
- If the consumer chooses to cut
the bulb off, cut approximately 1/2" above the bulb at a
slant.
- Immediately place Hyacinths in
a clean vase with 3/4" of water. Water level should be no
higher than the top of the bulb.
- Best vase life is obtained
when Hyacinth's are placed in water treated with commercial
flower preservatives.
- If water becomes cloudy,
replace with clean water. If bulbs have been removed, re-cut
1/4" from bottom of stem with each water change.
- Keep Hyacinths away from heat
and direct sunlight.
- Hyacinth's will continue to
grow in the home or office.
