Leycesteria formosa is commonly known as the Himalayan Honeysuckle. A native of India and China, Leycesteria is now grown as a seasonal floral crop. When the foliage is removed one will notice the plants bamboo like stems. From the bottom of each reddish-purple hanging flower bract... a small cluster of white star shaped flowers will emerge. These flowers look quite similar to Stephanotis.
