The common Lilac is botanically known as Syringa vulgaris. The pictured variety is called Madame Florent Stepman. This wonderfully fragrant flower is only available from Holland from November thru May. Lilac is a nice addition to spring arrangements and bouquets. 

Lilac is considered a large mass flower with vase life of 3 to 10 days depending on bud stage and environmental conditions.
