A Colorado Field Grown Flower
Monkshood is botanically known as Aconitum napellus. Monkshood is a popular garden plant that is winter hardy in Colorado. Monkshood also grows wild throughout the Rocky Mountains. This beautiful line flower is mildly toxic... so be sure to wash your hands after handling the stems. Monkshood is available seasonally from early summer to late fall in 5 stem bunches. Vase life is good and varies from 7 to 10 days depending on bud stage and environmental conditions.
