Straw Flower was originally native to Australia. It is botanically known as Bracteantha bracteata. Formerly Helichrysum bracteatum. Stevens and Son grows Straw Flower as a late summer crop. Bunches are quite long often times over three foot in length and sleeved with 5 stems per bunch. The flowers are straw like in feel and appearance. Straw Flowers air dry very well. Dried flower heads may need wire support.

This small mass flower has a vase life of 7 to 10 days depending on bud stage and environmental conditions.
