A Stevens and Son "Home Grown" flower
Sunflowers are a member of the Helianthus annuus family. Their name is derived from two Greek words, helios meaning sun, and anthos meaning flower. Sunflowers are one of the most popular flowers in today's market. Every shop should offer them. Flower head size can vary depending on time of year. Keep Sunflowers thoroughly hydrated at all times. Vase life varies from 7 to 10 days. From late spring to early winter we grow our own Sunflowers at Stevens and Son. The pictured bunch of Teddy Bear Sunflowers was grown in our greenhouse.
