Tritoma is botanically known as Kniphofia. Tritoma is a popular garden plant that is winter hardy in Colorado. Tritoma is also called Red Hot Poker or Torch Flower. This unusual line flower blooms from the bottom of the spike slowly working its way towards the top of the stem. Spent lower flowers can be removed without effecting the rest of the flower. Tritoma is available seasonally from early summer to late fall in 5 stem bunches. Vase life is good and varies from 7 to 10 days depending on bud stage and environmental conditions.
