Costus
barbatus is a tropical perennial that is native to Costa
Rica. It grows up to 12 feet in height producing a single red
floret from 4" to 13" in length. Costus barbatus is also
commonly called "Red Tower Ginger" or "Spiral
Ginger". Costus barbatus requires a warmer temperature than
your every day flowers... with a preferred temperature of 65
degrees. Vase life is excellent... with the flowers lasting 15 to
30 days depending on age and environmental
conditions.
