Hanging
Heliconia is botanically known as Heliconia rostrata. This exotic
tropical flower is native to South America and can be found from
Columbia to Peru, but is mainly imported from Hawaii. Mature plants can reach heights of 10
feet. Heliconia vellerigera is available by special order
only.
Hanging Heliconia also goes by
the name of "Hanging Lobster Claw". Stems are quite long
often measuring between 48" to 60" in overall length.
Each stem produces a single flower which weeps downward. This
large from flower requires a warmer temperature than
your every day flowers... with a preferred temperature of 65
degrees. Vase life is excellent... with the flowers lasting 10 to
14 days depending on age and environmental
conditions.
Please consult with your sales representative for this weeks
availability.
Stevens and Son only sells to
professional florists with a state tax ID number. We do not sell to retail
consumers.
