"Sugar Protea" is also commercially grown in Australia. It is botanically known as Protea repens. In some parts of the country Sugar Protea is referred to as... Honeyflower. The flower head of Sugar Protea is much smaller and lighter than most of its relatives. This medium form flower mixes well with other tropicals. Vase life is excellent... with the flowers lasting 14 to 21 days. Sugar Protea can be safely kept in the cooler with other flowers providing the temperature is at or above 36 degrees.
