Nicandra, Peruvian Apple

Today’s Stevens and Son Showcase flower is the Nicandra (Listed on our Price List as Peruvian Apple)

This unique beauty is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the nightshade family. In the southern U.S., people rub the leaves on their skin as a fly repellent and will set it out in a dish mixed with milk to attract and poison flies, earning it the alternate name shoofly.
