Agapanthus derived its common “Love Flower” name from the Greek words agape, meaning “Love”. and anthos, meaning “Flower”. The plants were originally native to Southern Africa. Today they are commercially grown in temperate climates as a cut flower for the floral trade. Vase life is 6 to 10 days.
