Avoid Amaryllis Split Stems

Amaryllis is an extremely popular item during this time of year! Working with Amaryllis there are some tricks we’d like to share with you to help you out with your designs!

During the processing stage of amaryllis we cut each stem with a sharp knife at an angle. A trick to avoid a split stem is we tie a tight rubber band around the bottom. This will prevent the stem from splitting up any further.

Now, if you find out you’re reading this trick a little too late, here’s a designer that has taken advantage of their split stems in their floral design! Very clever!
