“The easiest way to get the stems in parallel is to lay the empty cube on its side and line them up a handful at a time. When it is almost finished stand it up and use the remaining tulips to fill in any holes. This keeps you from accidentally ripping petals off as your vase becomes more packed.” – Teresa

Remember to keep it well watered since the tulips will have displaced most of the vase volume.
